under evacuation orders. at least 94 buildings have been destroyed. they are also working to restore power to more than 1 million people. we are live with team coverage this morning. mary is tracking the dangerous conditions. let's start with jackie ward. we are at the equestrian center. you see behind me this barn is still burning on the inside. completely gutted by fire. the fire department was actually here battling the fire. they just moved out of this area. just a couple minutes drive away from where we were last half hour. we try to get to the road to see what was happening and that is now impossible. the fire has grown to more than 54,000 acres. it is only five percent contained.

the homes. a lot of people evacuated ahead of. we got a chance to talk to some of them yesterday. right now a lot of the shelters are opening up as these people had here. some people have been out of their homes for 4 dates now. those early regulations. many of them with a deadly 2017 fire still fresh in these people mine. we just heard about that this morning from the shelter manager. >> a scary thought. there in shock. they do not have much good news. at least the wind has died down. we hear will pick up again in two days. >> we do not know how long these evacuations will last but there is just so much uncertainty for the people here. many of them did not have power before or during the evacuation process because of the shutdowns. it made things really even more chaotic.

here at the fairgrounds, we just found out there about 670 people staying here. they have room for about 50 more. the red cross assures us they will continue to open more shelters as needed. bay area schools are closed today in response to the ongoing fire danger. all school districts will be close because of the kincaid fire today and tomorrow. charter schools will also be closed through tuesday. they will reassess the closure based on changing conditions. any updates will be shared at 4 pm. all schools in pacifica will stay closed today. all schools except bayside and martin luther king academy will be close. 16 schools will remain closed. find the full list on our website. more than 1 million

a series of earthquake struck northern california in two different locations. separate earthquakes. a little after midnight. 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck about 20 miles north of hollister. no damage or injuries were reported. 2 earthquakes rattled the northbay this morning at the kincaid fire was barreling towards santa rosa. a little after 1 am. luckily no injuries were reported. the kincaid fire is not the only problem we are seeing. we will show you the blaze gust panic along interstate 80. when investigators think about a crash. in the east bay overnight:3 people. a dramatic drop this morning.
